Texas is heading to Fayetteville to rekindle what once was a heated rivalry with Arkansas.
The Week 2 matchup marks the first road game of the season and the first road game with Steve Sarkisian leading the charge. The game kicks off at 6 p.m. CDT and will be televised on ESPN.
The Longhorns put the nation on notice Week 1 when they blew out the then ranked No. 23 Louisiana Ragin’ Cajuns by 20 points. The convincing win did not stop the media and the college football world from doubting the Longhorns against old Southwest Conference foe Arkansas, though.
Redshirt freshman quarterback Hudson Card, along with running back Bijan Robinson, are looking to continue the success they had against Louisiana. Texas’ defense will also be tested this week by the fierce rushing attack of Arkansas’ quarterback K.J. Jefferson and running back Trelon Smith.
Texas will be entering the matchup as the No. 15 team in the nation, and they are looking to add another win to their 56-22 series lead against the Razorbacks.
There is an immense amount of energy surrounding this game, especially since it will be played in front of a sold-out crowd during a prime-time slot on ESPN.
The Texas social media department released a hype video ahead of the game, and it’s safe to say the team and fan base will bring the juice.
